Norwegian-born designer, Magnus Pettersen creates
a soothing atmosphere with leimu table lamp design.
Shaped
like a
wine
goblet, Leimu
is a table lamp, which has a glass lampshade seated on a concrete base. The
glass is tinted in a copper colour to produce a warm, atmospheric light and the
concrete is made slightly darker to soften its appearance. Driven by architecture,
the design brings a crude and cold material like concrete into the home accessory
setup.
With dimensions of small:
200 x 300 mm and large 250 x 380 mm., what makes the design work is the concept
of fragile glass and tough concrete, making a realistic picture out of the
unrealistic.
