Designer Layth Mahd designs Ripple Vases bringing out the beauty in stone through advanced robotic fabrication techniques.
Ripple is a series of marble products designed using advanced parametric modelling and made on 7 axis Kuka industrial robotic arms at the Quarra stone robotic facility in the USA. The idea is to take something people perceive as solid and rigid (stone) and make it - through the use of highly advanced robots - look very fluid, organic and light. The collection is made from two types of solid high-end marble - Vermont and Georgia marble.
